Artist’s Role: I was one of five artists commissioned to create a public art bike for the HealthyRide PGH bike
share program in June-July 2017. My LED art bike leaves trails of clouds and wave imagery as
well as the text of a short poem, as it used to get around town by any bike share member. Any
bystander can take a long exposure photograph to reveal the images and poem that the rider
leaves behind in their wake. I created the artwork, electronic light-painting system, and integration of Solar USB Battery into HealthyRide PGH Bike. HealthyRide PGH Bike Technicians provided the electrical splice into the rideshare computer’s pedaling power system.
